Cisco Extends its Application-Centric Infrastructure for Enterprises

As part of its recently launched application Centric Infrastructure Initiative ( ACI) , Cisco introduced a control policy Infrastructure (APIC ) Enterprise Application Module to extend the applications of high-performance data center to wide area networks (WAN ) networks local area network ( LAN). The ' goal is to provide companies with complete visibility of their networks by automating network configuration and policy, and managing applications across the WAN and access networks .

The Cisco APIC serves as a single point of management and automation of tissue elements in physical and virtual environments .

The Cisco Enterprise APIC module consists of three components: a database of network information , statements, policies and infrastructure automation .

To address the security issues , Cisco APIC automates rapid threat detection and network-level mitigation through integration and automation of Cisco security solutions Sourcefire . To manage compliance through branches and offices, the Cisco APIC offers quality across the network service (QoS ) , and WAN speeds ( IWAN ) Smart distributions. It can also be used with third-party solutions to provide an orchestration and management of end - to-end WAN.

Cisco said its APIC frees up time for IT otherwise the configuration of network computers and devices update policy changes by the device would be spent.
